This improves the handling by making more firm contact with the ground, and enhances water evacuation in wet conditions. DuraTech is still used in the construction to minimize chipping at tearing, and the tread is dual layered which exposes a high grip rubber as the tire wears. Traction through mud and snow is enhanced by stepped notch and saw grooves on the inside, and the outside of the tire uses an open shoulder tread to help evacuate water.
